Part-time Production Assistant

Part-time, 15 hours per week to start

The Position

This is an entry level part-time position for a detail oriented individual with a passion for working with machines as well as crafting with the hand. You’ll receive training in the use of 3D Printers and Laser Cutters, as well as opportunities to use design software like Rhino3D and Adobe Illustrator. You will work within a tight-knit team to help build models, prototypes and products for a client base of top designers, engineers and innovative brands. On a periodic basis, you will maintain and service shop equipment to ensure high productivity day-to-day.

About You

You’re a detail oriented individual, who can strike a balance between speed and attention to detail. You love working with your hands, take pride in caring for your tools and have an interest in how new technology is transforming fabrication. You’re comfortable working with basic machinery, tools and your hands in a fast-paced production environment, and are capable of completing your tasks with minimal oversight.

The ideal candidate has some familiarity with the operation or maintenance of laser cutters, engravers or 3D printers. Experience with woodworking, building, machining and other custom fabrication is a major plus. Serious applicants should include a portfolio with their application showing professional or personal projects they have designed or built.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of laser cutters and 3D printers
  • Fast and efficient production and assembly of customer projects
  • Carrying out other fabrication tasks like gluing, sanding, assembly, etc.
  • Helping to ensure the studio is tidy and well organized
  • Performing regular equipment maintenance
  • Restocking supplies and materials as needed
