Content Marketer

Junior/Intermediate, Part Time, Contract

The Position

We’re seeking an individual to help develop content for our online marketing channels, including our website, blog and social media. You’ll be responsible for developing engaging writing, graphics and photography in order to help communicate our products and services to Toronto’s design community.

Responsibilities

  • Tell great stories that our audience will love.
  • Building out content for our website to communicate our laser cutting and 3D printing services.
  • Developing an ongoing content strategy to provide inspiration for our customers and to keep them engaged with our brand.
  • Documenting projects and interviewing customers so we can share more of the beautiful things that are made at Hot Pop Factory.
  • Creating tutorials and other illustrative content to assist our customers in bringing their designs to life.
  • Outreach and communication.

About You

You’ve got impeccable taste and experience maintaining an online presence. You are a highly skilled communicator and have no problem engaging in conversation with strangers. You love making things and are passionate about documenting the process through photography, text and graphics. You’re a great communicator and understand how an image can tell a story. You are passionate, self-guided, able to see projects to completion with minimal oversight and instruction.

Production Assistant

Full-time, Entry Level, Permanent, $14.00/hr

The Position

This is an entry level position for a detail oriented individual with a passion for design and fabrication. You’ll receive training in the use of 3D Printers and Laser Cutters, as well as opportunities to learn design software like Rhino3D and Adobe Illustrator. You’ll be operating this equipment to help build models, prototypes and products for Toronto’s top architects, designers and brands.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of the laser cutters and 3D printers
  • Fast and efficient production of customer projects
  • Preparing files for production using CAD software like Rhino3D
  • Helping to ensure the studio is tidy and well organized
  • Performing regular equipment maintenance
  • Carrying out other fabrication tasks like gluing, sanding, assembly, etc.

About You

You’re a detail oriented individual, who can strike a balance between speed and craftsmanship. You love making things and have an interest in how new technology is transforming fabrication. You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and are capable of seeing projects to completion with minimal oversight.

The ideal candidate has some familiarity with software like Adobe Illustrator, Rhino3D, AutoCAD or similar. The use of laser cutting or 3D printing in your own personal projects is a major plus. Serious applicants should include a portfolio with their application depicting projects they have designed and built.
