Production Manager

Full time, Permanent

The Position

We’re looking for a passionate individual to help manage the production of creative fabrication projects using cutting edge tools like laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNCs. You’ll work with the designers and craftspeople at Hot Pop Factory, as well as our talented network of partners to turn creative visions into physical reality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a passionate team of designers and fabricators, as well as shop equipment schedules to meet production goals
  • Liaise with suppliers and partners to meet project deadlines
  • Ensure production stays on schedule and within budget
  • Analyze, coordinate, and execute on production requirements and other specification data
  • Train, support, and evaluate production team members
  • Monitor shop environment to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements
  • Minimize production downtime
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and restock supplies, fix any production problems
  • Build systems and processes to make production more efficient
  • Determine whether new machines are needed or whether overtime work is necessary

About You

You're a confident leader and manager who has excellent communication, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and time management skills. You care deeply about your team and are accountable for the outcomes of your work. The ideal candidate has a track record of project management training or work experience, is familiar with CAD software like Rhino 3D, and has a strong interest in the business applications of digital fabrication.

Sales and Marketing Assistant

Full time, Permanent

The Position

We’re seeking an individual to help tell great stories that our audience will love! The role will involve assistance in the execution of Hot Pop Factory’s marketing and sales strategy. This includes developing visual content to help communicate our products and services, as well as inspiring and educating Toronto’s design and marketing community about the exciting applications digital manufacturing processes. You will also be working directly with potential customers and the production team to bring a large variety of product ideas to life.

Responsibilities

  • Help create sales and marketing collateral in the form of digital, print and experiential materials
  • Aid in the preparation of RFQs and estimates
  • Lead generation and CRM list management
  • Visual content creation and working with copywriter
  • Execution of sales marketing outreach
  • Composing and scheduling newsletters and social posts
  • Monitor Analytics and Adwords

About You

You’ve got impeccable taste in design, a passion for relationship-building and excel when there’s variety in the work you do. You are a great communicator and understand how images and words can tell an emotional story. You have no problem engaging in conversation with strangers, either digitally or IRL. You are passionate, resourceful, highly organized, self-guided, and able to see projects to completion with minimal oversight and instruction.
